I use whats called a Gentle Lead. It goes over their nose and then around their neck. Headcollars are the dog equivalent of a horse's halter. I imagine that your dog will still pull with a harness, because he will be able to put all his weight into that harness. I first used a headcollar on a basset hound we had years ago. She used to pull a lot on walks. When I put the headcollar on her, the difference was profound and immediate. No longer did I fear for my arm. She walked politely, and we both could enjoy her walks. Anyway, sorry to sound like a commercial. (I do not profit from headcollar sales.)
