I made this tonight,it's home made rice a roni with chicken.Ok not as perky as the box stuff but wow it was really good.I will make this again! So far since I've lived in Texas,I've learned how to make several things.I can finally make decent bisquits that hubstead will eat.I make different kinds of breads and pies, salsa and later tonight I'm making homemade ginger ale.Yeah I'm stuffed right now!Think I'll take a nap.
Home made ginger ale sounds great! I can't drink the store bought kind because it's sweet. Will you let us know how to make it?

DeleteServes 4
2 cups fresh ginger cut into 1/8-in slices (about 2 large “handfuls")
2 cups sugar
4 cups water
1 qt club soda, well chilled
1 lime, quartered
Directions
First, you’ll need to make a ginger syrup. Combine the ginger, 2 cups of the sugar, and the water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until syrupy or reduced by half, for 40 to 50 minutes. The syrup will thicken as it cools so don’t over-reduce it. Strain the syrup and reserve the ginger.
To make ginger ale, fill four 8-ounce glasses with club soda. Pour 2 tablespoons of the ginger syrup down the side of each glass. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of each glass.
It's also good with lemon instead of lime.
Sounds wonderful!
